Description

DCG Aluminum Adjustable Round Diffusers are recommended for heating, ventilating, and cooling applications.

DCG diffusers provide a 360° air diffusion pattern and excellent performance in VAV systems.

Full adjustability is possible by rotating the inner core clockwise or counter-clockwise to move the cones up or down, changing from horizontal projection to vertical projection in accordance with the supply air temperature. DCG might be the commercial round diffuser boosting the best vertical adjustment on the market, thanks to its largest cones’s accented profile.

Three models of DCG are offered with different methods of adjustment:

DCG round diffusers provide great performance in temperature differentials up to 54ºF (12ºC) and are suitable for premises with ceilings 8.5 ft (2.6 m) and higher.
Original design by Lievore, Altherr & Molina for Madel.

PART 1 – GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. Adjustable round supply diffuser(s) with adjustable core allowing horizontal or vertical discharge by rotating the inner core to move the cone assembly up or down.

B. Suitable for heating, ventilating, and cooling applications with ceiling heights 8.5 ft (2.6 m) and higher, and temperature differential up to 22°F (12°C), unless otherwise indicated.

C. 360° air diffusion pattern; suitable for VAV systems.

D. Construction: heavy-gauge spun aluminum; duct mounted or drywall mounted, as scheduled.

E. Optional plenums (as scheduled): provide optional plenum(s) for air equalization, acoustical performance, limited ceiling space, oversized face with given duct diameter, and/or special damper requirements.

1.2 SUBMITTALS

A. Product Data: Manufacturer’s data for scheduled neck sizes and configurations, including:

  1. Free area; recommended minimum and maximum airflow.
  2. Pressure loss and diffuser-generated NC.
  3. Throw data (as published) for horizontal and/or vertical discharge conditions where applicable.
  4. Temperature differential correction factors (where published).
  5. Mounting method and accessories.
  6. Optional plenum and damper selections (if scheduled).

B. Shop Drawings: Show model designation, neck size, mounting type (duct mounted or drywall mounted), finish/color, and optional plenum selection (PLRR or PLXP) including air equalizing grid option (EQ), where scheduled. Indicate any scheduled damper type (R3G / OBD / RSBD).

C. Airflow Prediction Report (Required): Provide manufacturer-generated room airflow prediction report using manufacturer performance data and recognized correction methods. Report shall include:

  1. 3D room layout with diffuser placement.
  2. Predicted airflow visualization views: plan (top), section (side), elevation (front).
  3. Throw distances for terminal velocities of 150, 100, 60, 50, 40, 30, and 20 fpm.
  4. Pressure loss at scheduled airflow.
  5. Diffuser-generated NC.
  6. Perceived NC: sound pressure at room center (5 ft height) from all sources combined across 63–8000 Hz octave bands; include key assumptions used.

D. Verified CFD Validation (When Indicated): Provide EffectiV Verified CFD validation and summary report for spaces indicated and/or when operation is outside published selection limits.

1.3 SUBSTITUTIONS

A. Substitutions per Division 01. Proposed equals shall provide a line-by-line compliance matrix including all Part 1 deliverables.
