PERFAIR-XS is our alternative to PERFAIR-SS or PERFAIR-ST when 2′ x 2′ square diffusers must be installed in ceilings with very limited space. PERFAIR-XS allows to install AXO-S Series, NEX-S, OTO-S, PLAY-S and RXO-S in ceilings with a 6″ clearance.

Because the plenum is very compact, air pressurization inside the plenum is significantly reduced and more air tends to be pushed out of one side of the diffuser, resulting in performance loss and comfort issues. In order to counter that effect, a perforated plate has been added inside the plenum. It has the effect of equalizing the air volume and pressure inside the plenum, therefore diffusing the air more evenly through the diffuser’s face.

The end result compared to standard compact plenums is a significant improvement of occupants’ thermal comfort, which can consequently reduce the overall energy consumption of the system.

PERFAIR-XS comes with the same crossbar and long screw for secure face attachment as other PERFAIR plenums and is available with 4″, 5″, 6″ or 8″ round or oval neck sizes.

PERFAIR-XS should only be considered as an alternative to other PERFAIR plenums when required by physical constraints. We highly recommend specifying PERFAIR-SS in designs with 14″ or more of free height in the ceiling.
