Architectural Adjustable Long Throw Multi Nozzle Jet Diffuser

KOO Adjustable Long Throw Multi-Jet Nozzle Diffuser
01 / 13 Products

01 / 13

The KOO Long Throw Multi-Jet Nozzle Diffusers represent a vanguard in design of air diffusers. Integrating one or two rows of jet nozzles into a rectangular panel, the outcome is a smooth and homogeneous surface reducing the visual impact on interior architecture.

KOO consists of multiple aluminum nozzles that are aligned in one or two rows, in a galvanized steel panel. Two different nozzle diameters are available, including 3 5/32” (80 mm) and 4 59/64” (125 mm). It is possible to have between two and twenty nozzles per panel. There are a total of 32 available combinations to supply air between 15 cfm and 1065 cfm.

KOO comes with multiple optional features:

  • Concealed spring clips with secure hooks for ceiling installation, reducing the installation time to a few seconds and with no visible screws.
  • Matching PLRX plenums with either top or side connection(s).
  • Wide selection of air volume dampers, including our standard perforated damper/air equalizer and our series of cable-operated dampers.
  • Plenums also available with acoustical liner or thermal insulation.
  • IEK adapter to mount KOO directly on round metal ducts.

Description

The KOO Long Throw Multi-Jet Nozzle Diffusers represent a vanguard in design of air diffusers. Integrating one or two rows of jet nozzles into a rectangular panel, the outcome is a smooth and homogeneous surface reducing the visual impact on interior architecture.

KOO Jet Nozzle Panel Diffusers respond to different functional and architectural requirements, thanks to their manually adjustable nozzles in all directions.

Thanks to its long throw and flexibility of direction of the air pattern, KOO is suitable for air diffusion in all kinds of different architectures. It provides a high induction air rate level, reducing stratification.

The concealed spring clip system reduces the installation time to a few seconds. It also includes secure hooks for ceiling installation. The result is a smooth and homogeneous surface that reduces the visual impact on the interior architecture.

Matching PLRX plenums are available with either top or side connection(s). There is also a wide selection of air volume dampers, including our standard perforated damper/air equalizer and our series of cable-operated dampers. Other options include acoustical liners and thermal insulation. Similar to all of our plenums, anti-seismic tabs are standard.

KOO can also be mounted directly on a round metal duct using an IEK adapter.

PART 1 – GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. Adjustable long-throw multi-nozzle jet diffuser(s) for large spaces and high ceilings; suitable for wall or ceiling mounting.

B. Each jet nozzle shall be manually adjustable to direct airflow up to 30 degrees in each direction.

C. Suitable for air conditioning, ventilation, and heating applications with temperature differential up to 22°F (12°C).

D. Provide manufacturer-supplied plenums for all KOO diffusers. Plenums shall be supplied by EffectiV and sized/configured for the scheduled diffuser size, mounting type, and duct connection(s).

1.2 SUBMITTALS

A. Product Data: Manufacturer’s data for scheduled diffuser size(s), nozzle diameter, number of nozzles, free area, recommended airflow range, pressure loss, diffuser-generated NC, and throw values (including values with and without ceiling effect where published).

B. Shop Drawings: Show model designation, panel size, nozzle diameter, nozzle quantity and arrangement (one row or two rows), finish, mounting type, plenum type, duct connection layout, and all scheduled damper/equalizer and accessory selections. Indicate acoustical insulation and thermal insulation where specified or required for the application.

C. Airflow Prediction Report (Required): Provide manufacturer-generated room airflow prediction report for each diffuser type and unique room condition using manufacturer performance data and recognized correction methods. Report shall include:

  1. 3D room layout with diffuser placement.
  2. Predicted airflow visualization views: plan, section, and elevation.
  3. Throw distances for terminal velocities of 150, 100, 60, 50, 40, 30, and 20 fpm.
  4. Pressure loss at scheduled airflow.
  5. Diffuser-generated NC.
  6. Perceived NC at room center (5 ft height), 63–8000 Hz octave bands; include assumptions used.

D. Verified CFD Validation (When Indicated): Provide EffectiV Verified CFD validation and summary report for spaces indicated on drawings and/or when operation is outside published selection limits.

1.3 SUBSTITUTIONS

A. Substitutions per Division 01.

B. Proposed equals shall provide a line-by-line compliance matrix including all Part 1 deliverables, including the Airflow Prediction Report.
