Automatic airflow adjustment is even more useful when the angles match the space. KAM-ACTIF thermodynamic diffusers now offer factory-selected heating and cooling angles, giving engineers more flexibility to adapt air distribution to each room. This option is also available for motorized KAM-M5 diffusers.
Two ways to adapt airflow
KAM-ACTIF uses a thermodynamic piston to automatically change the discharge angle in response to supply air temperature. No electricity, wiring or external controls are required. It adapts the airflow direction to counter buoyancy, helping reduce stratification and improve comfort.
KAM-M5 uses an electric actuator to change the discharge angle through a control system.
Both versions offer two mounting options: W for surface mounting, such as on a wall, and D for direct duct mounting. These options determine how the diffuser is installed; the operating principle remains the same.
More flexibility beyond the standard ±30° configuration
Previously, the only configuration was +30° upward in cooling and −30° downward in heating. These steep angles could limit suitability in rooms with lower ceilings.
Heating and cooling angles can now be specified independently within the −30° to +30° range. For example, engineers can select +20° in cooling and −20° in heating, or 0° in cooling and −20° in heating, matching the discharge directions more closely to the room’s geometry and operating conditions.

The result: more design flexibility, supported by airflow visualization before the products are ordered.
Heating and cooling angle settings must be specified when ordering. They are factory-set and cannot be changed in the field. During operation, the diffuser automatically moves between the specified positions.
